Former New York Yankees pitcher Hideki Irabu was found dead of an apparent suicide in his suburban Los Angeles home on Wednesday, according to the Los Angeles County sheriff's office. He was 42.

Praying for Those Contemplating Suicide

O Lord and Giver of Life, may we all recognize the great value of the life You have given to each one of us. But look in a special way on those who no longer find any meaning in the life they are leading.
You can see every movement of the human heart and You knew what depths of despair, discouragement, frustration, loneliness, or self-hate have led them to the edge they are standing on.
Have mercy on them, and open their eyes to see that the road has not ended. Fill their hearts with new hope. Place people in their lives who will love them, with your own love, and who will give them a reason to live again. Make them know they are worthwhile and needed.
And Lord, if You wish to use me as your instrument in touching someone, feel free to do so. Amen

Tuesday request

Please -- prayers for Jeret "Speedy" Peterson, the Olympic freestyle ski jumper, who shot himself in a suicide Monday night in Utah. From the coverage, he suffered greatly, from many childhood difficulties and continuing torments. Thank you.

Monday night requests

Please pray for Matt, a friend's son who took his life Saturday night...and also for another friend's daughter who is suicidal and in custody of her 10 year old son who I fear for....thank you all and God Bless each and every one of you...

Please pray for the souls of Nicholas, age 28, who took his own life last month and Melanie, who took her own life last Thursday. Melanie left behind a loving husband and twin daughters. Thank you.

Pleasr pray for the cousin of a Facebook member, Shawn. He was found Friday; a man putting away his horse found him in the baby barn. Thank you.

I just got this prayer request from another group I belong to. Please pray for Nika - killed herself in front of her two children ages 7 and 5. Please pray for these children too. Thank you.

Thursday request

Please pray. A member of another prayer group's 11 year old niece just tried to commit suicide this morning. No one knows why yet. How awful for the child and for this family. The youngsters need God's protection so very much in these times.
