Sounds of a train

"Two weeks ago, I was at the pulpit at the Purgatorial Society saying the Chaplet and the TRAINS went by..it hit me deeply..then last night, we watched "You Don't Know Jack"..about dr. kervorkian..sp?..Well, at the end of the movie when he's opening up to one of his supporters who he's assisting to "die"...a TRAIN is heard in the background..I almost jumped out of my chair. Your spiritual awareness has given me a deeper sadness for suicide..thank you, June..

Offering it up
Tonight I attended the monthly Mass for the souls in Purgatory at my parish. Father thanked us for coming out in the bad weather to attend the Mass and said that the souls would benefit more from our coming to this Mass, than when the weather was sunny and pleasant. He said he himself had a cold and headache, but that the souls would benfit from that. He said, "The worse we feel, the better the souls will feel." Just a reminder about offering up our suffering for them.

Update on Robbey
Robbey is the young man who jumped from a bridge in NYC and landed on train tracks just missing a train.
From Robbey's mother:
"How grateful I am for your prayers! I literally see the Hand of God at work every single day in Robbeys life!
"If you didn't see the outward appearance of surgery and scars, you would never know that Robbey had an accident a month ago. His communication, memory retention is second to none..and he works very, very hard in rehab to get well in all facets of his life.
He spends roughly 4 hrs daily in occupational, physical, speech, cognitive thinking, psych, etc to get back to where he was...only better!"

I want to request prayer for a client of mine who today shared that her 26 year old daughter (Jamie) committed suicide. Evidently she (Jamie) had dealt with personality disorders her whole life and had been suicidal before. It sounded like she had depression problems too but she was arguing with her boyfriend and just couldn't handle it and went to her girlfriend's house and while there she killed herself. Please pray for Mercy for her soul.
Please also pray for her family, especially her twin sister. Her mother is Christian and she kept saying if she didn't have her faith she wouldn't make it. She kept saying that her daughter was saved and with Jesus now. I pray that through Jesus' Divine Mercy Jamie is with him.
I am just so startled like many others as to all the young people and people in general who have committed suicide. Jesus have Mercy on them and on us. Please Jesus reach your children who are hopeless. Let us bring the hope to them that only comes from you! Jesus I Trust In YOU!

Holy water for the holy souls
A lady sent me the following letter and gave me permission to share it:
I was taken with the article “Divine Mercy for Lost Souls.” I do not have a computer and I would like my brother-in-law added to your website. [already posted]
On November 19, 2000, Thomas shot my sister Tina and then himself, leaving 3 children ages 3,5,14. Thomas had a while Jeep and the time, so every time I see a white Jeep I’d say the Eternal Rest Prayer for him, and still do till this day.
I also am up at 3 AM and pray the Chaplet of Divine Mercy for those in danger, especially children and those contemplating suicide.
I have a friend whose husband worked on the railroad, and he passed away a few years ago and every time she’d hear the train whistle blow, she’d say, “That’s Joe calling me.” So I started saying the Eternal Rest Prayer for the holy souls. I hear the train whistle all hours of the night.
When the weather is good, I am at the cemetery with my holy water. I know of three graves of those who committed suicide. I find great consolation when I sprinkle holy water on their graves. I’ll have some of the articles about it (see below) wrapped in cellophane at the graves and hope someone will read them and pass them on to others, I’ve had people stop and ask me what I am doing and when I tell them, they get excited and want to do the same. Some even ask where I get the holy water. I have a spray bottle as it’s a lot easier. I just love the holy souls and those who are in Heaven are praying for me. It’s great!

“The suffering souls also experience a great alle¬viation when the graves are incensed and sprinkled with holy water. The holy water does indeed only materially moisten the earth, but in its beneficient virtue it refreshes the souls in Purgatorv, just as the waters of Baptism falling on the head of the infant have power to cleanse his soul.
Therefore, see that you frequently sprinkle the last resting place of your friends with holy water, for thereby you will allay the heat of the flames that torture them.”

Please pray for a young woman who is suicidal and has been very depressed for a long time. Need a major miracle, please pray!
Please pray for Amy who is a mother of 2 young children. She just tried to commit suicide and is now hospitalized. Also, pray for Larry - he was 60 something and a father who just took his own life 2 days ago. The family is devastated.
My very dear friend, Marg, has 2 grandsons ( 21 and 18 ) who were deserted be their Mum , when they were toddlers. They both drink way too much and have both dabbled in drugs. It has been very difficult for them. They have both had suicidal thoughts. Their names are Darcy and Dillon. Please pray for them.
Let us pray for Sandy's son, who killed himself last year at age 23, having been wrongfully committed as a juvenile by a corrupt judge in PA who was just convicted of a "kids for cash" scheme with private corporate prison builders. And let's all pray for Sandy, too, outraged and devastated.

What an inspiration - update from Robbey's mother
June, I talked to Robbey's mother, Darlene tonight. She is an amazing women. She was having back surgery on the day this happened with Robbey. Now has more health issues and was close to dying, plus her husband has a bad heart and is really struggling with all that is going on. He is in NYC with her and travels back and forth between hospitals. his GPS broke today on the way to see his son and had a hard time getting there. there trials are amazing..but she said you could share this with your prayer warriors. Thanks so much

Boy... does God have a sense of humor!!
When He says in His Word that He wants to grow us, stretch us.. and walk by faith... I have a completely new perspective on
what a faith walk is!
Most of you know that Robbey had a horrific accident in NYC, and is being hospitalized in New York.
As surreal as it was to receive a phone call from NYPD giving me info that Robbey was found on the metro subway tracks and was alive.. the first thing I said to the police officer is, "Do you see how big my God is, and how I thank Him for His Hand upon Robbeys life!!!!"
I am the mom who received a call that her son LIVED from falling 50-60 feet...
I am the mom who received the information that knew only the Hand Of God could land Robbey perfectly in between the rails of a subway, and in an area that the dirt between the rails was dug out whereby trains had passed over Robbey, but did not kill him;
I am the humbled mom who heard that a conductor saw something out of the corner of his eye, and thought it might be a body and brought all trains to a halt to further investigate..
I am the thankful mom who got a call from a LEVEL 1 Trauma center that spoke to me every hour over the next 36 hrs giving me information and accepting my permission to operate on Robbey 3 times within that 36 hr time frame.
I am the grateful mom that saw Gods Hand upon Robbey ....no matter what the doctors report said, or what the doctors saw, felt, witnessed or believed..I know that "God has a future and a hope for Robbeys life and that God had not carried out that plan to fruition, and promised me He would "see it thru unto completion!!"
I am the most blessed mom that begin to call prayer warriors via family and friends who bombarded heaven with prayer on Robbeys behalf, and we CONTINUED to see miracle after miracle of Gods AMAZING Healing Power manifest in Robbeys life over and over again..
I am the mom who cannot quit praising and worshipping a Big God who honors the "effectual, fervent prayers of the righteous that availeth much!"
I got into NYC on an early Tuesday morning (2am) not feeling very well..
I went to see my Robo at Mt Sinai Hospital who has done nothing short of miraculous work with THEE Great Physician leading the team of specialists who have worked on Robbey.
I left Robbey at 4pm Tuesday evening.. I was taken by ambulance to Roosevelt hospital at 11pm that very night.
As I write this letter to you.. I am still in a hospital, but expecting to be released tomorrow. (after spending almost 2 weeks at Roosevelt Hosp.)
I was suffering with a perforated colon, (and will have surgery in about 8 weeks to remove a portion thereof...)
It was all so surreal that I was that sick and did not know it, much less having to spend 2 weeks in a hospital to get me to the point of going home to further heal in order to have surgery in a much healthier state.
I requested that they take me to the same hospital Rob was in, but they said their protocal required them to take the most direct route to the nearest medical center.. thus Roosevelt Hospital would be my destination.
As I lay in that ambulance.. God and me begin to talk, and I told Him I would take the high road as I knew He had both my best interest and that of Robbeys always as His First Priority. I thanked Him for taking me to a hospital where He would provide me with the best doctor to fix me up and send me home. I thanked HIm for His continued faithfulness to take care of my son..
That is soooo God.. Who knows better, than God as to how to take care of "their son?"
He blessed me with one of the finest surgeons I have ever met, and I could feel waves of peace flood my soul as I couldn't focus on anything for the first week other than that horrible pain I was experiencing and the fact that they kept me very sedated the first week to calm things down internally. However.. I could feel the incredible power of prayer as you lifted up my family in prayer. I could feel His Perfect Peace... I could feel worship in my spirit and in my heart for Him. I knew I was being cared for...
What God showed me so clearly during the separation from Robbey; Robbey being in one hospital and myself in another is that He does a much better job of taking care of my family WITHOUT me needing to be by their side.... All I had to do was focus on His Promises for my household and to.. "Put on the Garment of Praise for the spirit of Heaviness.."
The Power of Prayer is the greatest, most effective gift anyone could give to another person...
When anyone ask what they can do for me... without a doubt, the greatest, most powerful, cherish and coveted gift you can ever give me is prayer....
Prayer...It connects me on a super shuttle to heaven. It opens up the "Windows of Heaven and He pours out His blessings so much so that I cannot contain them.." He promises that if "We cast our care (concern) upon Him, He cares for us.."
He sends His Precious Spirit of Peace, Healing and Restoration thru the powerful words spoken in prayer!!
We are living proof of the outcome of prayer!! Robbey is alive today because of prayer. I am being well taken care of, and get to see Robbey tomorrow when I am released!!
My prayer for Robbey is that God directs me to the right people in hope of working out the logistics to see if we can get Robbey transferred to a Houston hospital for the remainder of his case. He has multiple surgeries ahead as well as the neuro/mental rehab that he must go thru..(the team of doctors here estimated that Rob would be in hospital/rehab for 4-12 months for full recovery)
It would be a huge financial and emotional burden to have Rob transferred to Houston and be surrounded by not only great med team, but family and friends who could visit and encourage him thru this healing process.
I was walking the halls at 3am and my spirit soared as I begin to sing Praise and Worship songs.. The words not only bring peace, but they empower you and take you to another level with God..
As I spoke with the Lord during my walks up and down the hallway.. I simply said over and over that no matter what.. I will always love you Lord.
No matter the outcome.. I know that You; Dear God have our very best interest at heart.. that He will never leave or forget about me.. and He has my family in the Palm of His Mighty Hand...
I don't know why there has been so much adversity, so many trials, challenges and what looks like the biggest mountain to climb in our lives, but this I do know... My God is so much bigger than it all! While I don't think my shoulders are broad enough to cope with one thing after another.. I assure you that my glass is half full!
All I have to do is look over my shoulder, and there is a multitude of people that would give ANYTHING to be in my shoes..
I am so blessed to have a Father who loves and cares so much for my family....

I am the mom who cannot quit praising and worshipping a Big God who honors the "effectual, fervent prayers of the righteous that availeth much!"
I got into NYC on an early Tuesday morning (2am) not feeling very well..
I went to see my Robo at Mt Sinai Hospital who has done nothing short of miraculous work with THEE Great Physician leading the team of specialists who have worked on Robbey.
I left Robbey at 4pm Tuesday evening.. I was taken by ambulance to Roosevelt hospital at 11pm that very night.
As I write this letter to you.. I am still in a hospital, but expecting to be released tomorrow. (after spending almost 2 weeks at Roosevelt Hosp.)
I was suffering with a perforated colon, (and will have surgery in about 8 weeks to remove a portion thereof...)
It was all so surreal that I was that sick and did not know it, much less having to spend 2 weeks in a hospital to get me to the point of going home to further heal in order to have surgery in a much healthier state.
I requested that they take me to the same hospital Rob was in, but they said their protocal required them to take the most direct route to the nearest medical center.. thus Roosevelt Hospital would be my destination.
As I lay in that ambulance.. God and me begin to talk, and I told Him I would take the high road as I knew He had both my best interest and that of Robbeys always as His First Priority. I thanked Him for taking me to a hospital where He would provide me with the best doctor to fix me up and send me home. I thanked HIm for His continued faithfulness to take care of my son..
That is soooo God.. Who knows better, than God as to how to take care of "their son?"
He blessed me with one of the finest surgeons I have ever met, and I could feel waves of peace flood my soul as I couldn't focus on anything for the first week other than that horrible pain I was experiencing and the fact that they kept me very sedated the first week to calm things down internally. However.. I could feel the incredible power of prayer as you lifted up my family in prayer. I could feel His Perfect Peace... I could feel worship in my spirit and in my heart for Him. I knew I was being cared for...
What God showed me so clearly during the separation from Robbey; Robbey being in one hospital and myself in another is that He does a much better job of taking care of my family WITHOUT me needing to be by their side.... All I had to do was focus on His Promises for my household and to.. "Put on the Garment of Praise for the spirit of Heaviness.."
The Power of Prayer is the greatest, most effective gift anyone could give to another person...
When anyone ask what they can do for me... without a doubt, the greatest, most powerful, cherish and coveted gift you can ever give me is prayer....
Prayer...It connects me on a super shuttle to heaven. It opens up the "Windows of Heaven and He pours out His blessings so much so that I cannot contain them.." He promises that if "We cast our care (concern) upon Him, He cares for us.."
He sends His Precious Spirit of Peace, Healing and Restoration thru the powerful words spoken in prayer!!
We are living proof of the outcome of prayer!! Robbey is alive today because of prayer. I am being well taken care of, and get to see Robbey tomorrow when I am released!!
My prayer for Robbey is that God directs me to the right people in hope of working out the logistics to see if we can get Robbey transferred to a Houston hospital for the remainder of his case. He has multiple surgeries ahead as well as the neuro/mental rehab that he must go thru..(the team of doctors here estimated that Rob would be in hospital/rehab for 4-12 months for full recovery)
It would be a huge financial and emotional burden to have Rob transferred to Houston and be surrounded by not only great med team, but family and friends who could visit and encourage him thru this healing process.
I was walking the halls at 3am and my spirit soared as I begin to sing Praise and Worship songs.. The words not only bring peace, but they empower you and take you to another level with God..
As I spoke with the Lord during my walks up and down the hallway.. I simply said over and over that no matter what.. I will always love you Lord.
No matter the outcome.. I know that You; Dear God have our very best interest at heart.. that He will never leave or forget about me.. and He has my family in the Palm of His Mighty Hand...
I don't know why there has been so much adversity, so many trials, challenges and what looks like the biggest mountain to climb in our lives, but this I do know... My God is so much bigger than it all! While I don't think my shoulders are broad enough to cope with one thing after another.. I assure you that my glass is half full!
All I have to do is look over my shoulder, and there is a multitude of people that would give ANYTHING to be in my shoes..
I am so blessed to have a Father who loves and cares so much for my family....
Your prayers for us are priceless..

Update on Robbey who jumped from a bridge in NYC and landed on train tracks, barely missing a train:
Robbey is being transfered to a rehab hospital. He has done miraculous but has a long way to go. Thanks for these emails. Hi Mom is overwhelmed from all the prayers from everyoone. Thanks so much.
wanted to thank you all for your prayers and let you know they are working. Just an update on my brother Eddie who was suicidal. My Mama says he is working on all aspects of his life. Well today he told her I know I need to work on the Spiritual aspect of my life and he is wanting to go to confession! WHAT A BLESSING! Thank you for your prayers. My sister having Colon Cancer however bad has already blessed my brother as he nightly says the Rosary with my parents for my sister. My Mama says My sister's cancer has made my brother have a new outlook and he is getting much better. Thank you all and may God bless you!

Urgent request
Urgent prayer need - miracle needed asap. Cannot get any help for her as we fall through every crack where help can be had; we've exhausted all resources.Cannot afford to pay a psychiatrist on my husband's modest income. :( This prayer need is for my teen daughter Paige, she is suffering with psychiatric illness and has been suicidal. I live in Northern Ireland and we at present have an epidemic of young people even as young as eleven taking their own lives.
Please pray for the eternal repose of Angelo, an elderly and retired army who took his life recently. May God have mercy on his soul.
I would ask for prayers for a friend of mine, Julie, who committed suicide two years ago in November. She was a sweet soul who was suffering terribly from a broken relationship & heart. No one knew she was in such great pain as she decided to take her own life. I pray that God has spared her as she grew up with terrible messaging from her parents ("I wish you'd never been born" type of words) and I think she suffered with this throughout her life. I believe Christ, in his mercy, takes this into account as the Cathecism also notes. Thank you for your prayers for her.

I am off work today and can finally get caught up with all the prayer requests. I am going to be sending quite a few today from the Facebook page. The follwoing are ones that were sent to me personally. There is one suicdal person in these intentions. If you are interested in spiritually befriending a suicidal person, to pray every day in a special way for that person, to be like a "guardian angel", let me know. Here they are:
I ask for prayers for a man named Jim who continues to attempt suicide for years. He has been suffering with severe depression probably for 20 years. Gone to Dr.'s etc. Stop taking meds. I am angry at the grief he has caused his adult children.
Please pray for my son, Chris, he committed suicide on November 7, 2006. He was going through a rough divorce and was depressed. I pray he is safe in Heaven.
I'd like to request prayers for my son Brian, who killed himself at the age of 12 on 7 Feb 1996. The tragedy of this event is beyond my ability to describe.
My friend’s family was hushed about her death but we, her high school friends figured out that she committed suicide. She had a problem and on top of that, she was pregnant. Her name is Elizabeth and she died in 1983. I’ve been praying for her as I dreamt of the Blessed Virgin Mary way back that she was in POOR STATE. Healing Mass
I went to a healing Mass tonight and printed out the list of suicidal people and put the list in the petiton basket in front of the altar. Father usually leaves the petitions there a week or two, so they will be there for all the Masses and in front of the Blessed Sacrament 24/7.

Tuesday Prayer request
I have been overwhelmed with prayer requests because of the publicity on spiritdaily. Thanks be to God we gained a lot of new members. Over the next few days I will try to post the requests from the Facebook site here too. For right now, I am asking prayers for Joe who is suicidal.
If anyone would like to "spiritually befriend" Joe and be like a guardian angel, praying for him everyday in a special way, let me know.

Praying for ones who pushed a soul to commit suicide
I got a note today from a lady named Mary who wrote:
The Lord gave me the same inspiration as yours, to pray for suicides. I wanted to share with you that the lady who saw the poor souls, Maria Simma, said that the Lord holds accountable people who may have mistreated or pushed the person to suicide [bullies]. From this, I saw that when I pray for souls who commit suicide, I need to pray also for those who may have contributed to the person's despair. So I pray for all suicides and everyone connected to them. So that includes their families, loved ones, their enemies and their enemies' families. Also, bullying has become a media topic. I believe the Lord wants us to pray for everyone involved in bullying. That includes the victims, the perpetrators, their families, loved ones, their enemies. I think the Lord wants us to pray for all of these souls because bullying of children/adolescents can lead to suicide and because both bullies and victims can be very wounded souls. Divine Mercy is the only answer, as you know

His girlfriend had just broken up with him and he threatened suicide. She called his parents and when they went looking for him they found him in the garage, dead.

Just learned that a woman in Milwaukee (who sidewalk counselors valiently tried to prevent from getting an abortion, but couldn't) committed suicide after her abortion. Please pray for her.

Just received a phone call about a young man named John who tried to commit suicide last night. He's in the UW Hospital, and the family is being advised to pull the plug. Please pray for the man's life to be preserved and for his soul.
(they later that day posted that he had died)

My Grandfather shot himself (during the depression) when my Father was 12 years old. My Father was in the next room, heard the shot and found his Father's body. Years later, my Grandmother, who suffered from severe depression, overdosed on pills and slashed her wrists. I was 4 at the time. My Father, an only child, found her. My poor Father had nightmares about this until the day he died (from cancer). Please pray for them all.

Monday Prayer Requests
Please pray for Robert, a doctor, who killed himself many years ago. His ex-wife prayed that he would be saved, and got a confirmation that he was.
Please pray for Thomas and Tina. Thomas murdered his wife Tina on 11/19/00
and then killed himself.
Please pray for John who committed suicide on 3/13/01. His broken-hearted father became Catholic after reading what the Catechism has to say about suicide. (His Protestant upbringing taught him that people who committed suicide went to hell.)
He received the Sacraments of Initiation in July and died two months later on September 11, 2001.
And last, but not least, please pray for a 19 year-old girl who tried to hang herself, but survived, thanks be to God, without any brain damage.

Prayer requests/list update
Please pray for the soul of Mark who committed suicide on Feb. 4.
Also please pray for Stacy(no relation to Mark)who committed suicide on Dec. 8. Stacy's suicide was less than a month after her brother's. Stacy's aunt told me today that their father Donald died of a broken heart last week at age 59. Although his death was not a suicide, we can still pray for his soul.
Fran updated the list again yesterday and it can be found on the website. I printed out the list and am taking it to daily Mass and Adoration.

I ask you to add to your prayers for those who have committed suicide, Jack , a beautiful, but tortured soul who shot himself in his parents' backyard quite a few years ago. Jack loved the Lord with all his heart, but suffered terribly from serious mental illness.
I also ask you to pray for Ben, a member of the Mercyhurst Prep crew team who also shot himself quite a few years ago. My daughter and other crew team members were at his home at the time visiting his brother, also on the team, when they heard the shot coming from his bedroom. It was heartbreaking for his family and for so many of the kids.
Your prayers are also requested for my cousin, Wilfred, who committed suicide when I was a little girl. I was too young to understand, but it seemed a rare tragedy that has now become all too common.

He left a 6 page letter on Facebook stating that he had been abused by a priest in the past and hope that his death would motivate the hierarchy to become more involved in stopping clergy abuse.
He was a tortured soul. Please pray for him, his family, and the new Bishop who will be dealing with the aftermath of this terrible event.

Holy Souls Chaplet
A member shared the following with me and said I could share with you, but she wishes to remain anonymous:
I've been praying for the souls in purgatory for a few months now, and I had a funny thing start happening to me during one of my "purgatory chaplets". This particular chaplet has, in place of the Our Father, "O holy Souls draw the fire of God's love into my soul to reveal Jesus crucified in me here on earth rather than hereafter in Purgatory, Amen". About halfway through the chaplet I actually started to feel a burning sensation in my heart with each prayer. I believe this was the "fire of God's love" from the prayer. It still happens on occasion, I love it because it lets me know my prayers are doing something.

Begin as you would the rosary through the "Glory Be", then, starting on the 5th bead and on the rest of the “Our Father” beads pray:

On each “Hail Mary” decade bead, pray:
"Crucified Lord Jesus, have mercy on the souls in Purgatory"
Conclude with 3 “Glory Be’s”
I've been praying for the souls in purgatory for a few months now, and I had a funny thing start happening to me during one of my "purgatory chaplets". This particular chaplet has, in place of the Our Father, "O holy Souls draw the fire of God's love into my soul to reveal Jesus crucified in me here on earth rather than hereafter in Purgatory, Amen". About halfway through the chaplet I actually started to feel a burning sensation in my heart with each prayer. I believe this was the "fire of God's love" from the prayer. It still happens on occasion, I love it because it lets me know my prayers are doing something.

Begin as you would the rosary through the "Glory Be", then, starting on the 5th bead and on the rest of the “Our Father” beads pray:
"O Holy Souls, draw the fire of God's love into my soul to reveal Jesus Crucified in me here on earth rather than hereafter in Purgatory"
On each “Hail Mary” decade bead, pray:

Prayer request
Please pray for the soul of a young man in the military who committed suicide last Friday. Also pray for his wife, children, and his mother and family.

"On saturday I asked to pray for Marinesita , my sister's friend she has suicidal though despite her take medicaments please ask Jesus that the Holy Spirit enlighten them to do something change her medicaments or change her doctor Please keep her in your prayers.
God Bless you and Many thanks Jesus Healing Her!!!!!!!!!!!"
Three more requests from a friend of mine. These suicides happened many years ago: Danny, Kevin, and Ersilia. They will be grateful for the prayers.
"For these blessed souls are His eternal spouses, and most grateful are they to those who obtain their deliverance from prison, or even a mitigation of their torments." ~ St. Alphonsus Liguori
